Once you’ve had your fill of relaxing on your veranda or chilling in the hot tub, why not explore the area? There are miles of beautiful walks right from your lodge, no need to get the car out. The iconic headland of Baggy Point offers some of the most scenic views in Devon, and leads to an awesome three miles of beautiful sandy beach at Putsborough, which is dog friendly all year round.
Whether you’re already an expert or just keen to learn, some of the best surfing in Britain is available on our local beaches, with great local surf schools to hire you the equipment and show you what to do. And if there’s no surf then why not try your hand at coasteering or explore the fascinating coves and gullies on a stand-up paddleboard?
If you’re into cycling then Croyde is a great place to be, with the fabulous, family friendly and traffic free Tarka Trail nearby in Braunton, where you can also hire bikes. There’s also plenty of opportunity for more challenging off-road cycling experiences along the coast and on Exmoor and Dartmoor. Bring your own bike or hire when you get here, you’re guaranteed a great experience …just add mud!
Fancy a round of golf? The renowned Saunton Golf Club is a short drive from Croyde offering 36 holes of superb championship links. Set in the splendid arena of Braunton Burrows, which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there has been a golf course here since 1897. Play the greens and fairways listening to the waves breaking on the golden sands of nearby Saunton Beach.
